Barrie’s Worldwide walk July 24th 2010

Photography is one of the hobbies that people can pick up and learn fairly easily. Some people have the impression that there is a trick to taking great pictures. There are some different elements you need to consider in order to both enjoy photography as a hobby, and take great pictures. The fact is, with a little knowledge and some practice, wonderful pictures are a click away. For some of us, our living comes from what we love, taking photo’s.

Despite the somewhat intermittent inclement weather today, around 40 photographers of varying skill levels, camera models took part in the Scott Kelby annual photo walk, one aspect uniting everyone, their passion for taking photos. The pre-planned route took us down along lakeshore towards Johnsons beach (which we never did reach), unfortunately mother nature had other plans late in the walk, giving almost everyone a nice shower for their valiant efforts. Thanks to the staff at Queens Hotel on Dunlop street whom revived many of us with liquid refreshment, both alcoholic and non alcoholic, as well as some delicious food.

I would like to extend my thanks to everyone that took part in the walk today, together you all made it a tremendous success, and look forward to 2011.

For those of you in the walk that would like to add your photos to the flickr group, the page can be found here http://www.flickr.com/groups/barrie_worldwide_walk/
