Wedding Photography for 2011

Love by the beach – Sarah & Jon

Gorgeous sunshine and a happy couple, what more could a photographer ask for.  Sarah has modeled for us in the past and it’s always been a pleasure to work with her, so  it was an honour to be asked to shoot her wedding. With the assistance of Bill Minten (Samlyn Studios), our day started with shooting the bride getting ready and meeting her dog, Magic.

I was delighted to meet up with Stan DesRoches, the celebrant on the day, and his wife Judy, as it was he that married my wife and I four years ago.  Those few years seem to have just flown by and bought back many happy memories of my own wedding day.

Love is....

Love is....

I have always loved shooting at Wasaga Beach, so big and vast, it makes a beautiful background for any photographs. Equally, the Wasaga Sands and Country Club is just as spectacular. Overall, it was a fabulous day and I thank Sarah and Jon for letting me be a part of it. Congratulations to the happy couple and I wish you many years of happiness

Sharon and Daves Wedding

Panoramic views, dramatic vaulted ceilings and elegant decor make the Clubhouse at Innisbrook Golf Club the perfect venue for any event. It was both a pleasure and a privilege to join Sharon and Dave yesterday for their winter wedding, and share with them in their special day. Despite the sunshine and almost heart stopping  cold at -29°c, it didn’t stop the smiles, tears, laughter and joy from flowing. A surprise for me was learning not only the minister, Rev. Michael Cassidy, but also the DJ, Marty Carlisle were also Irish

Completely unannounced to everyone was Sharon’s daughter singing flawlessly during the signing of the books leading to well deserved applause at the end of the song, and a perfect lead in to the festivities

Congratulations to Dave and Sharon on their marriage.

Getting Married in 2010

Wedding photography is about seizing moments, capturing emotion and creating memories. The renowned French photographer, Henri Cartier-Bresson, termed it “the decisive moment”, the point when the photographer releases the shutter to capture an image. Professional wedding photographers do this for a living. They photograph people every day and not only have the necessary photographic skills, but are adept at handling people, even emotional ones at a wedding.

Your wedding portraits may be the most important photographs you will have taken in your life, so it’s important to choose the right photographer. Many photographers now offer an engagement or ‘Just because’ session prior to the wedding, which I think is a great idea. It allows you to get to know the photographer, and s/he you, which in turn leads to more relaxed wedding photos on the day.

This year in Barrie, I have consulted for over twenty weddings, the first of which takes place next weekend. Congratulations to all the couples we’ll meet this year and let’s wish them well on this stage of their journey through life

Amanda & Bens Wedding

Glorious sunshine and love in the air….and the scenic Victoria harbour….couldn’t be a more perfect setting for a wedding.  Its a tremendous feeling to be part of  a couples day where they declare their love for each other before God, their family and friends and I’m privileged to have been a part of their day. Congratulations to Amanda and Ben on their wedding
